چکیده

Studied of genetic variability and its component traits path analysis were carried out among fifteen genotypes carrot (Daucus carota L). Highly significant differences between observed for all the characters. A moderate to wide range mean value different characters genotypes. Moderate high genotypic co-efficient variation, phenotypic variation with heritability, direct indirect effect on yield qt / ha. advance as percentage was investigate majority High percent mean, gain flesh thickness (cm), net root weight five plant (kg), (qt. ha.), inner core diameter vitamin (I U), β carotene content (mg 100 g fresh weight), girth (cm) length (cm). The present study revealed that, presence substantial amount in important components are (qt ha), (IU), It concluded that selection based plants U) ha.) may improve yield.

Genetic Variability, heritability and genetic advance studies in Carrot (Daucus carota var. sativa L.)

A study was carried out in mungbean Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) with eight ‘lines’ and four ‘testers’ crossed in a Line x Tester Genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance were estimated for marketable and its component yield traits in 48 lines of carrot (Daucus carota var. sativa L.). The study showed high ranges for total yield (3.15 -7.56 kg/plot), marketable yield (2.60 – 6.85 kg...

Characterization of Inositol Phosphates in Carrot (Daucus carota L.) Cells.

We have shown previously that inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP(3)) stimulates an efflux of (45)Ca(2+) from fusogenic carrot protoplasts (M Rincón, WF Boss [1987] Plant Physiol 83: 395-398). In light of these results, we suggested that IP(3) might serve as a second messenger for the mobilization of intracellular Ca(2+) in higher plant cells. To determine whether or not IP(3) and other inositol p...

Intra-population genetic diversity of cultivated carrot (Daucus carota L.) assessed by analysis of microsatellite markers.

Intra-population variation of 18 cultivated carrot (Daucus carota L. ssp. sativus) populations of diverse origins was evaluated using codominant microsatellite (SSR) markers. Using 27 genomic and EST-derived SSR markers, 253 alleles were identified with a mean 9.4 alleles per marker. Most of the alleles (60.5%) were rare i.e., with the frequency ≤ 0.05 while only 3.95% of alleles occurred with ...

Guaiacol Peroxidases in Carrot (Daucus carota L.) Root**

Carrot (Daucus carota L.) belongs to the group of common edible vegetables. The aim of the present study was to establish the distribution of guaiacol peroxidases in carrot root sections as well as to determine the enzymatic activity and the electrophoretic pattern of isoperoxidases in tissue extracts of particular root regions: central cylinder, inner cortex and epidermis, including the periph...

Inositol Trisphosphate Metabolism in Carrot (Daucus carota L.) Cells.

The metabolism of exogenously added d-myo-[1-(3)H]inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP(3)) has been examined in microsomal membrane and soluble fractions of carrot (Daucus carota L.) cells grown in suspension culture. When [(3)H]IP(3) was added to a microsomal membrane fraction, [(3)H]IP(2) was the primary metabolite consisting of approximately 83% of the total recovered [(3)H] by paper electrophor...
